Assign additional user permissions for collaborating on your contracts. Specific permissions enable users to:

  • accept all changes made in both the current and previous revisions of a contract

  • accept/reject changes made by other users

  • finalize contract collaboration (convert a DOCX contract to PDF), regardless of whether changes in the current contract revision were accepted or not.

1. To do so, click the three dots menu next to a Recipient that you need to configure permissions for. Then, select Configure.

Alternatively, click the gear icon to open settings.

2. In the step settings, select the Manage document access icon next to the document that you need to configure access permissions.

The Manage document access modal window will open. In the Accept/reject changes section, you can assign the following permissions to a step:

  • Can accept or reject changes made by others (is set by default) - only allows for accepting changes made by other users (activates the Accept only others’ changes button in the editor)

  • Can accept or reject all the changes - will allow for accepting changes made by both you and other users (activates both Accept only others’ changes and Accept all changes buttons in the editor)

  • Can’t accept or reject the changes - won’t allow users to accept or reject any changes in the document.

Save your settings by selecting Apply or proceed to Additional options.

The Accept changes buttons will automatically become available in the editor (according to the specified permissions).

In the Additional options section, you can manage permissions to

  • comment on documents

  • view version history

  • finalise contracts

  • If the permission to comment on documents has been assigned, the step will be able to leave comments in your contracts. To comment on a contract, put the placeholder where you need in the document or highlight the text you intend to leave a comment on.

Next, proceed to the Collaboration tab and select Add comment.

Once added, it is possible to edit, resolve, or delete your comment by selecting the option you need. Your teammates will also be able to reply to your comments.

  • If the permission to view version history has been assigned, the step will be able to view the history of changes made to your contract by versions. To do so, navigate to the Collaboration tab and select Version History.

The version history will instantly open to display every version of your contract. Switch between versions to see the changes (will be highlighted in the text).

Permission to finalise your contract at every step of contract negotiation is enabled for each step by default. The Finalize contract button will be available for these teammates in the editor.

Note: The button will be disabled if there are any unexcepted changes in a contract.

You can easily unassign this permission at any time. To do so, deselect the Can finalize contract checkbox. Then, click Apply.
