Template is a reusable document with pre-defined roles and fillable fields. Create it once and reuse it to send one packet of documents to different recipients at any time. You can even turn your template into a workflow to add automation magic.
1.Select Start > Create template. The aforementioned option is also available in the Getting started section.
Note:The Design automation option is used for workflow creation. Send documents allows you to create documents with a simplified and intuitive process (this option does not include bot and branch settings).
2. Enter a name for your template. Otherwise, it will be saved as Untitled.
3. Add the documents you need as described in this article. Note that the Contracts, Document generation, and Spreadsheet options are not available when using this functionality.
4. By default, there is only one Role in a template. To add more recipients, go to the Assign fields to option in the document and select Add roles.
To assign different fields to roles, follow the instructions described in this article.
5. Manage additional settings for your template, if needed. Next, click the gear icon and select the option you need:
– Fields navigation: customize your document completion experience. More information about this option can be found in this article.
– Consent to eSign: request consent from signers to use legally-binding electronic signatures. Once enabled, before a signer begins to fill out your document, they must "consent to use electronic records and signatures," which validates the legality of the contract. All recipient actions within a document are also recorded.
– Message to recipients: modify the default message to recipients when sending documents to complete.
– Create help message: create an introductory message for your recipients where you can add some hints, guidelines, and contact information.
– Redirect recipient: create a redirect for a recipient after they complete a document. Add a website URL and indicate whether it will open in the same or a new tab.
6. Once the setup is completed, select Save and Close.
7. Send the template to recipients as described in this article.
